The best running shoes ever! April 5, 2009 Tiffany (Chicago) 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
These shoes are amazingly comfortable. From the moment you put them on your feet you really don't want to take them off. I can't say that I've ever had a pair of tennis shoes that I preferred to socked feet. Most importantly, they are the perfect running shoe. Extremely light, cushioned and plenty of support. I never write reviews but I am so happy with these that I decided I should write one. By far the best pair of running shoes I've ever had, and I've had a lot.
WOW...! February 12, 2010 V. Fan (San Francisco, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I never thought at the end of day, my feet are still very comfortable.
I heard of New Balance carries lots of running shoes and I thought they are like Nike or Adidas, but "less" trendy. However, at a very casual conversation with a friend; she said she needed to buy a pair of New Balance running shoes for her mother as the doctor directed. A friend on the side jumped in and said only the MADE IN USA ones are good but expensive. I pointlessly browsed the web on one random day and found this 993 model. I hesitated for 2 weeks before buying them because I am on a budget. However, Amazon has the cheapest price and what I paid is far more worth than my feet thanking me.
I have low arch (flat feet) and I thought it was a birth defect and never told anyone except my mom. No one ever told me I have to wear special made shoes and there I lived a good 30 years. Anyhow, this is a pair of fabulous shoes and if you are looking for comfort, do not hesitate. BUY them now.
I have heard the earlier model, 992, is better. However, I am too late to realize. 993 serve me well.
Amazingly comfortable and sturdy! April 12, 2010 Erica Spitulski (California) I have had these for quite some time and highly recommend them. They are extremely comfortable for running and are a very sturdy shoe - I have gotten so much use out of these and they are still holding strong.
Love These Shoes! April 26, 2010 E. Marler (Mobile,Al USA) These are the most comfortable shoes ever. I'm not a runner, but I started a new job which required a LOT of walking. My feet hurt so bad I could hardly stand on them. I initially shied away from these because of the price ($149 after tax at my local "bargain" shoe store) and bought a cheaper pair of New Balance shoes. This helped with the pain in one foot but not the other. So I sucked it up and bought these. No more pain in my feet AT ALL! Have owned them for 6 months and wear them every day. My only complaint would be the mesh fabric in the toe area. If they would bring the leather part up a little bit over the toe, they'd be less likely to bust through. Just bought my second pair because the toe was ripped. But hey, I got them for $50 less than what I payed at my local Shoe Station! I also received them in 4 days.
Super soft, at least in the store March 15, 2010 Average Jane (United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried these shoes on along with a whole spat of running sneakers. While I'd never fork over the $140 list price at my local store for a single pair of shoes, I must say that the heritage 993 is extremely soft and comfortable. The fabric or animal skin (not sure what it is) that lines the inside of the shoe is creamy to the touch, like suede.
The price is the only thing that kept me from yanking the sneakers from the shelf and purchasing them on the spot. If you look hard enough you can find similarly comfortable shoes in the $50 - $70 range, some with the same thickness of the sole. I found a pair that had gel cushioning from the brand spelled OASIS that seemed to match the quality of these at a lesser price - not quite perfect, but close.
Unfortunately I was not able to test the Heritage shoes during a run, but for the few hops I took to the mirror they minimized the impact like a dream. They will definitely remain on my wish list until they come down in price, or I save.
